You say it has "good sensitvity". In relation to what? How does it compare to the 60csx? Will it work under heavy tropical tree cover like the 60csx?

Sensitivity is on par with the 60csx, I was able to get reliable signals under moderate tree cover, and indoors, just as I can with the 60csx.

Does this device have the ability to give temperature readings?

Have they fixed the issues with the screen brightness for outside viewing?

The screen is visible outdoors in sunlight but you may have to tilt the unit from side to side to achieve a good viewing angle; it's much, much better than the previous Oregon models but still not ideal.

Wow, either I really do not understand the 550t menu, but I find it impossible to show my current location with Lat/Long/Elevation. This is the most critical feature and its seems that the Oregon 550t does not have this feature.

tap to the satellite bars and you will see your location!

furthermore, if you want to have lat/long position constantly visible with the map display, then you can set it be displayed in a small rectangle at the upper side of the map display.

how do you get it to save the tracks to the microsd card.? The photo setup gives you the option of saving to a card, but I can't find it for the tracks. Does the option exist or is it automatic when a card is installed.

And what is the maximum size card the unit will recognize??
