Did you buy yourself a new BMW? I normally use the GPS in my vehicles to remind myself how bad the OEM GPS is

Sounds to me like BMW let him drive one for more than a test drive...

You're right - usually a car's built-in GPS is garbage compared to the ease of use and functionality of an after market PND. BUT, the Head-Up Display is so great, that it made a believer out of me. You can be quietly using GPS while no one in the car is aware of it.

But how does the BMW OEM heads-up display function as far as ease of use U.I? routing? It looks cool but does it work as easy as a Garmin, TomTom or Magellan?
Most limo drivers just turn the volume off when using their PND's with customers in the car and it works well for them at a fraction of the cost! :0
Heads-up display is nice but not if you have to buy the to get that feature. Waiting for some company to come out with a portable heads-up display GPS solution.

The 2010 BMW 750 LXI GPS is the worst GPS that I have ever used. I want to declare my car a lemon since the GPS is totally unreliable and can't function on certain highways in the USA. BMW knows about the problem and plans to provide a software patch in the middle of February which should fix the problem on most highwways. They have no idea when a complete software upgrade that functions properly will be released. The current GPS instructs drivers to exit every exit on the NJ Turnpike and then get back on the same road soon thereafter. Do not rely on the GPS for anything.

I almost stopped reading at first. This seems to be too much of a major deviation from previous reviews. Couldn't determine if this was a car review or a navigation review. Please stick to your stated mission - reviewing GPS and related deveices.

I agree with 'Steveb'. What is the point ‘reviewing’ 100K car with GPS??? How many of regular folks would buy this car? Hello?!?!

If you have such money to throw away (it is just a car) and money for gas then you have a driver and you just screw some hookers at the back seat and do not care for GPS nor where you are going.

Stick with the GPS receivers from Garmin, Magellan, TomTom, etc. and leave this ego junk for those with small dicks.

I liked that you reviewed this embedded GPS and I think you should continue doing this at least we, readers, can compare our earthly products to these more expensive brothers. Though, as one reader correctly pointed out, if you are reviewing a GPS don't mix with your opinion about the car.

Hello.... readers, these GPS systems are avaulable in even the cheapest (realtive for a German car) models. The 335 gets the same one as a 750.

And anyway the Audi 3G MMI with Nvidia 3d modeling wins. Heck, even the GPS I had in my 2000 A6 is better than most new PNDs. Yeah that's right, a TEN year old car with OEM nav. I find it funny on most reviews that people complain there's no traffic on these Euro cars. Guess what, the reviewers don't know squat. For some stupid reason they only provide TMC (as well as TV tuners) on the euro models and not (most) of the US ones. Europe has had free traffic for decades as well as pay services. Seems funny everyone crying over MSN direct traffic. It should be friggin free.

I had exactly the same experience on the NJ Turnpike in my 2010 750Li -- system instructed me to leave at every exit. But there are many more problems also. The system took me to places in Hartford, CT and New Haven, CT that bore no relationship or similarity to the addresses that I input. When I am in my home town, it gives my location as another town which does not even exist in my state, and it does the same in several other locations including New Haven. The system is totally unreliable and the BMW dealer denies knowledge of it or responsibility for fixing it.
