Garmin today formally announced the much rumoured nuvi 1690. The company's first Internet-connected GPS, the nuvi 1690's built-in wireless will provide Google local search, traffic, weather, fuel prices, movie listings, flight status, local events, white page telephone listings and Ciao!, Garmin's new location-based social networking system that connects multiple networks into a single portal for Garmin users.

Wow....if I had one of these and my wife had one of these...she could "see" where I'm at? Not sure I like that!!

Great, I know the price is $499.99. How much will it cost when it hits the market, how lower can the price go? Can't really wait for it. Lots of great features. Have 885t since last month, but will return and wait for this 1690t. When is it officially available?
