Retailers are more desperate than ever for your hard-earned greenbacks this year, and it's looking like there's going to be some pretty fantastic GPS bargains to be had this coming (Black) Friday. Here's a round-up of the deals I've spotted so far:
I tried to find the price you mentioned ($299)0for the Garmin 265WT from the Circuit City ad but I didn't find it on their 4 day sale circular. Could you double check the ad and refer me to it please.
Amazon just dropped the price on the Nuvi 765t from $469 and change to $349.99. Should be good through Dec. 1st. I just purchased two of these units (one as a gift).
That was a short-lived sale (Wed. thru Fri). Amazon has the price back up to $469. However, ABT (abt.com) still has it at the $349.99 (but it needs to be back ordered--7 to 10 days). Those interested should act fast.
Add the Garmin eTrex Venture HC bundle which includes the case and Topo US DVD for only $99 and change at Dick's sporting Goods. In store only. This is a great deal for the hiker in you.
tigergps.com has some pretty good deals, garmin 760 and 755t are both under 300
Costco has the 750 for $199
Magellan 1212 TTS and 6M POI for only $79 at BestBuy
The Magellan 1212 that GPS4ME informed us about is probably the best value out there.
Almost 4pm here and I just read it. Might take a drive to Best Buy and see if I get lucky.
Thanks to GPS4ME, I bought the Magellan 1212 for $79.00. What a bargain! Performance, speed and TTS-wise it appears to be an improvement over the older Maestro 3140 and 4040.
Though not as sophisticated in some ways as Garmin units, it has more routing features and options (i.e.road exclude, turn chime) than any nuvi, and this is important to me.
More importantly, it chooses better routes than the nuvi 260 within NYC and from CT to NY (and vice versa) throughout all 5 boroughs. The 1212 acquires sats instantaneously, something the Garmins I own (SP 2820, nuvi 260 and nuvi 350) don't do. All in all, at $79.00, it's a MUCH better value than nuvis costing 2-6 times more!
If you can get to a Best Buy, and they still have them at this price, I recommend it. You cannot go wrong at this price.
Amazon has the Nuvi 265WT for $238.70 with free shipping, a great deal!
I think Goodyear tire resellers is offer free Goodyear GPS free with purhcase of 4 tires!
GPS is getting so cheap, why rush out to buy one? you can buy it at a 7-11 like a paper map only when you need it!
