Fletch, as far as I can tell you are correct on the specs. No changes hardware or memory-wise. So your guess on how they will be incorporating the gprs seems likely. I would also venture that firmware will limit the backwards compatibility of the cable.

Would be nice if GPSes could track data from all the GPRS enabled phones out there. Then you'd have the best traffic detector ever. Because you'd see where all those poor schmucks without GPSes are bumping into traffic and avoid it. Because if you think about it GPRS on a GPS isn't as good at avoiding traffic because theoretically the people who have the GPS with the traffic option shouldn't be stuck in traffic anyway.
