I have a Garmin nuvi 780 and have found the gas prices reported to be from right on the mark, to a few cents off. Not bad considering the fluctuations we see daily.

Gas price information is gathered from prior day credit card transactions, so the fuel cost is pretty accurate and I have been pushing the GPS manufacturers to market their PND as a "GREEN MACHINE" that saves fuel, emission and time, great for the environment and pocket book. It only make sense to have these machines calculate the best route or shortest route so you can save some fuel and put out less emission in most cases.

My Garmin Mobile XT can check Gas price too as long as the Windows Mobile or PPC has internet connection.

The interesting thing is that it shows some stations have cheap price but it turns out that price is for Cash only.
