Every once in a while you need to just give your competitor a big hug and let them know that you guys don’t always have to be fighting.

In what can only be described as hardcore sibling rivalry, Garmin and TomTom finally settled at least one of their many disputes. The companies announced that they settled their intellectual property litigation that includes cases in the UK, Netherlands, Wisconsin and Texas.

Just read an article on the net that said Garmin withdrew it's bid to buy Tele-Atlas and has struck a deal with Navteq which would supply Garmin through the year 2015! Great news to me as I believe that Navteq is the better system, from all that I've read.I would think it would make it much easier for Current Garmin owners to get updates also if they stick with Navteq. Please give your opinions.

Just read the article and I agree that it's good news for me and others who favor the Garmin units. I prefer the NavTeq map database, and have a Nuvi 750 on order. I don't think there are any that are 100% free of errors, but NavTeq does seem better.
