While Garmin, Magellan, and TomTom are busy slugging it out with each other, California upstart Dash Navigation is quietly laying plans for what many are calling the most ambitious GPS navigation project ever: WiFi connected, GPRS equipped, GPS devices that talk to each other, and the 'Net to deliver real-time road conditions, and choose the smartest route to get to your destination.
The device will know your usual commute, choosing alternate routes if necessary, will learn your own particular driving style, and even send you an SMS message to leave home early if needed. Sound too good to be true? According to Dash, it's coming, and sooner than you think. Read on for all the juicy details.

The DASH does have the 3D view and you should also mention the Yahoo search feature and the send to address book capabilities.
I think they are very very late because by the time they are ready, I think the rest of the competition will be also.
Also, the unit will update the firmware and maps via WiFi, no need to worry about updating maps and firmware which is great. Tons of features tha can be very helpful.
Dash Express is the smartest Internet-connected automotive navigation system on the road. In fact, it's the first and only navigation system with built-in two-way connectivity. Which means it gets you where you want to go—in the fastest time possible—and delivers the most relevant information—right to your dashboard. Plus, Dash Express is the only device on the market that automatically and wirelessly updates its software and features, so all you have to do is drive.
With Dash Express you can:
Know the best routes around traffic using up to the minute information provided by the Dash Driver Network
Find virtually anything—nearby or near your destination—using Yahoo! Local search
Send an address from any computer right to your car with Send to Car
Find virtually anything—people, places products or services—using the power of the Internet.
Dash Express delivers the most relevant results based on your current location or your ultimate destination.
Select a result, hit GO, and drive right to it.
I guess DASH feels it's time to show their product to the public.

I have been a tester of the first version... There is absolutely nothing out that is like this or better than this... I can't wait until the roll out in the first quarter of 2008... it will revolutionize the GPS market!
