Last week I attended LG's fancy-pants night at Christie's Auction House in Manhattan and got a sneak peak at the upcoming LN790 GPS. I originally reported that the LN790 will have a split-screen mode where the unit would be able to play video on one side and show navigation information on the other. Turns out this was incorrect: the LN790 will NOT have a split screen mode after all.
Nevertheless, the LN790 WILL still support Divx and XviD video playback, making the LN790 a great multimedia player in addition to being a very capable navigator.
The LN790 is expected to hit the street in September for $699 list, $599 street.

I think LG will have problems with the ability to play video and navigating at the same time.
It's a sure ticket if a motor unit ride next to you and see it.
why would LG expose themselves to such legal issues, if someone runs over someone while using an LG video / navigation split screen, it would take away every penny LG made from having this feature to bost unit sales.
Drop the price down to $499 and take out the ability to watch video split screen feature.
By the way, 4.3" screen is so yesterday, new 5" screen is going to be the standard.
Fletch,it's great that you corrected the split screen issue.
