According to a study by the Swedish Defense Research Agency (I'm guessing this is a pretty small agency), computers used anywhere near a GPS receiver can block GPS signal reception. The study specifically called out newer, high-speed CPUs in the 1.7GHz and up range as causing interference.

I'm sitting at my desk. On one side of me sits a Mac with a 2.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the other side, a PC with a 2.4 GHz processor. Both computers are turned on. My Garmin nuvi 350 and 2730 (with power adapter) are also on my desk and turned on. No interference whatsoever.
I think it is the WiFi that may cause interference. When we first installed the Rockwell GPS systems with Rockwell receivers, it use to blow those GPS receivers out if the GPS receiver is within 12" of the unit or if it is near a radio tower that is transmitting. They didn't believe us until we proved it to him. Oh did I tell you that SiRF received a lot of their technology from Rockwell?
Maybe you can put your unit next to a high power radio transceiver and key it up and see if it affects the GPS reception.
