TomTom just announced new, updated maps available for the entire TomTom product line. The maps, called version 6.75, are only available via TomTom's website, and are based on the TeleAtlas 2007.1 (January 2007) map data. That's pretty recent map data to get on a GPS considering it's not uncommon to have mapping data that's several years old on a GPS. The new maps will run you about $135 (€ 99) for U.S. or Western Europe (other regions are also available).
Here's how you get the maps.

I purchased a TomTom ONE a couple of months ago and just received the 6.65 maps upgrade a few weeks ago. I needed to upgrade to a 2GB card to load all of the map data, and have found the new maps to be an improvement based on fairly limited use here in Vancouver, Canada.
Does this latest 6.75 update offer any significant benefits over 6.65? Any word on an upgrade fee?
Should be a very good Map from TA fletch. When the software is equal, TomTom will be very very respected as a value PND. No brainer!
I wonder if all the units being ship will have this new version 6.75?
Do u think the new units tomtom Go 510/910 are being shipped with TeleAtlas or Navteq maps
Hi Fletcher,
I really liked your review of the Tom Tom One, and I would love to see an updated review of the Tom Tom One with the 6.75 maps. Will it beat the Garvin 660? I hope so, becasue I like the Tom Tom's GUI, but I am concerned about tthe Map accuracy. I'll hold off on making my purchase until I see your review. Please keep us posted.
I just puchase my Tomtom One on July 16th, 2007. The unit came with NA map version 6.65 but when I called Tomtom on July 24, I was told that 6.75 is the same as 6.65 which was released in Jan.
Tomtom insisted that they are the same and explained that the different channels used for releasing the sw caused the different version - which I highly doubt.
Can anyone shed any light on this. I am thinking about returning the unit if I had to shell out more than $100 to get the new map...
Thx
I just bought the TomTOm One XL, i want to know does it cost you to update the maps from now on? it would be pretty costly if so....
I own two TomTom's, one for my Harley and for the other two cars. I enjoy the one on my bike (TomTom Rider). It allows me to listen both to directions and recieve phone calls in. One fall back the handlebar brackets are not strong enough to withstand the hwy?? Why did they skimp on this when the product handles great?
