New kid on the block Dash Navigation is announcing the largest road test program of any consumer electronics program today. The company will be sending 2000 units to people around the country to help start building the "Dash Driver Network". The official national launch for Dash Express is planned for the Fall. Dash is hoping to seed the network with beta testers in the hopes the network will be launch-ready by then.
Here's the details on the product and how you can become a beta tester.

US only?
I don't know. I was very interested in becoming a beta tester, was filling out their form, but stopped when they started asking, what I felt, were invasive questions about family members. Just deal with me!
Maybe this is the norm for some companies seeking beta testers, but was too much for me.
robgps... I think they just wanted to make sure your family is not a member of any press or competition
RobGPS
I think they are the first that ever ask this, normally an NDA is needed to become a beta tester so I guess it is a matter of how a company will work or trust their beta testers.
I would think if someone want to be a beta tester bad enough they can always fill out what DASH wish to hear.
Anyways, we will be representing their products locally in the bay area, and the few time I meet Paul Lego and Steve Wollenberg about the product along with receiving a demo with their beta unit, the unit I viewed / used appears to be functional. The UI is a bit weak and the format is antiquated, they promised the next version to be much improved so we hope so.
I think the problem maybe the GPRS and WiFi connections ability and dead spots. Traffic data requires much more probe vehicle with the DASH units in it.
I hope they have a sucessful product soon, but most competition is betting that it will not function as advertised.
We shall see, and I would recommend for you to apply to be a beta tester RobGPS.
Good luck
I am dyslex and often get reversed in the direction I am supposed to drive to reach a certain location.
And, driving back from where I went is usually a real disaster. Hopefully, your GPS will make it as easy to come back from a location as it will be to go there & the return direction will automatically be given so no one has not has to re-input the reverse.
Needless to say I would love to be a beta tester.
About 15%+ of the population is dyslex & about 85%+ kids & adults who are in prisons also have this problem which can be remediated.
