Garmin's New GPS Lineup

Garmin has officially released the details on 4 new upcoming GPS units: The StreetPilot c580, nuvi 370, nuvi 670, and nuvi 680. One interesting note is that Garmin's product pages for all four new units state that they units use a "high-sensitivity WAAS-enabled GPS receiver." That's unusual, since Garmin clearly states the SiRF chipset is used on the nuvi 360, 660 and many other models. I wonder if this means Garmin is moving away from SiRF? Also interesting is that the nuvi 670 has a lower suggested retail price than the top-of-the-line nuvi 680. Probably just a type that will be corrected later, but odd just the same.

Hi I already own a Nuvi 660 what is the difference in the 670 compared to the 680
I read the description and it said it adds full map coverage of North America and Europe what is different about that don't we already have full map coverage on the Nuvi 660. I know about the msn service do you know if it has updated mapping or updated points of interest. MY Nuvi 660 does not even show any of the major shopping center by my home Target Best Buy Kohl's and Dicks sporting goods are not even listed in the Nuvi 660.

If MSN direct is used with reciver at powercord. I wonder if they would sell power cord with reciver to owners of earlyer Garmin model. Like my C550. It would need only software update and powercord reciver. Anyway service like that wont work at europe or atleast not at Finland. So no problem ;)

The StreetPilot c580 looks really good to me.

I use a Mac, does this c580 have software that will work on Mac?

Thanks,

Randy

Coming from owning a Magellan for 2 years, I switched over to the Nuvi 660 because of the editor's choice. It is a very good GPS receiver with some oversights or perhaps I don't know how to adjust it. For the Nuvi 660, can I turn on the split screen before an upcoming turn so I can get on the right side of the freeway (like Magellan)? Somtimes the freeway splits and the white arrow does tell you which way to turn so I can get into the correct side of the freeway. A big Left or Right arrow would be a tremendous tool in guidance. I also want to have an arrival time countdown instead of a estimated time of arrival. It feels like you are making progress instead of a fixed time. I have to glance at my watch and then the Garmin and subtract the math in my head. More distraction. Any help is welcome. Feel free to email me.
