Yesterday Garmin posted version 4.10 software for the StreetPilot c550. I haven't applied the update yet, so I can't vouch for it, but from the looks of it, there's some fairly significant issues resolved with this update.
Changes made from version 4.00 to 4.10:
* Resolved Address search problems
* Added Brazil and Mexico locale options
* Improved tone generation efficiency
* Resolved lock up issue when setting traffic provider to Auto
* Modified UK, New Zealand and Australia default setting
* Fixed car driving sideways problem
* Fixed issue where scroll up still valid after clearing entries from recent selection page
* Improved GPS reception in long tunnels
The update is available from Garmin's website as an individual download, or can be applied via their WebUpdater software.

Wonder what these mean..
Update was 'intresting'.. It did end up to blue screen at C550.. and I did think that my 550 did crash.. But I did wait couple minutes with blue screen.. Nothing happend.. Power off->power on.. and it did work ok. But that blue screen and nothing happening, did scare hell out of me. Still try to think that its not Windows OS.. No BSOD's to C550 please.. :)
Could someone tell more about Streetpilot diagnostic menu? What else there can be find than trafic reciver signal information?
Go in to the diagnostics menu and look at the signal strength. From the map screen press the 'speed' in the bottom left then press and hold the 'overall avg' button for a few seconds. This will bring up another screen.
