Next week I’ve got an interview scheduled with Tele Atlas. Got something you think I should ask? Post it in a comment and I’ll ask it in the interview. Currently I’m planning on asking about the GDT acquisition, how Tele Atlas stacks up against NAVTEQ, and future roadmap.

Ask Tel Atlas how often they update thir data bases and if that update is available to companies like Garmin to then make available to us.
There was a project by TeleAtlas started last year and was to end this summer that was to map all the limited access roads in the US with camera equipped vans. How did it go and when will all that data be available in the TeleAtlas road data? What benefits should we expect from this project?
Why when designing a new site like Map Insight isn't there dynamic panning? Why is Boston always the starting point? And why if you submit your email don't you get any response saying that they got your corrections along with an incident number so you can track the status of your error report?
Ask them if they have plans, like already exists in Europe, to add red light traffic cameras to their data, like is available at http://www.gps-poi-us.com as an add-on solution.
It'd be intersting to know if they ever read the map feedbacks. It's weird to see that a _motorway_ that has been there for more than 1 year, still doesn't turn up neither in their feedback page map nor tomtom's maps (teleatlas based).
So far I haven't heard of a single positive review about their feeback page.
Can you ask them how we can have any confidence in their mapping or future mapping when a search for West 7 St. in Brooklyn, NY takes you to EAST 17 St, a search for 1 Lake St, New Britain, CT takes you to Engleke Pond in Litchfield, CT, and search for Forest Glen Circle, Middletown, CT takes you to the opposite side of Middletown and NOT the correct location, and so on and so on.
You also might ask them why anyone would want to buy a TomTom with such awful TeleAtlas mapping and if they are aware that is a prime reason that people either won't buy or complain about their TomTom purchases - mainly because of TeleAtlas's poor US routing.

ask when the updates will be available for tomtom users.
This interview of Teleatlas http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/teleatlas-visit-aug05.php
says that "The rest of the reports enter the change control process. My understanding of this is that if a substantial number of people report the same error then Tele Atlas will prioritise this and fix it. If on the other hand only 1 or 2 people report a map fault then this will wait in the system until sufficient reports have been made to raise it's priority."
Is this true? Many people must report the same error? Why bother submitting anything. At least when you submit to NAVTEQ you know it gets fixed. They also do a good job of keeping you informed through the process via email unlike MapInsight which doesn't tell you anything even if you leave an email address.
