The IntelliRoute TND 500 includes the following items in the box:

Physically, the IntelliRoute TND 500 looks similar to many other PNDs currently on the market. A 5-inch color touchscreen is framed in matt black plastic, with silver colored horizontal trim.

Except for the power button on the top of the device, there are no physical controls on the TND 500. All operations are performed via the touchscreen interface.

An external GPS antenna connector, and reset pin are located on the back of the IntelliRoute TND 500.

Use a paper clip or similar object to press the reset button.

Resetting the device restores factory settings, and restarts the device. The current route is lost when you perform a reset, but the address book, trips, settings, and ratings are not affected.

The right side of the TND 500 has the following connectors/ports:

  1. Audi Output Socket - Connect to external speaker
  2. Traffic Antenna Socket - Not currently used, but could be leveraged to provide real-time traffic data
  3. SD memory card slot (maps are stored on the SD memory card)
  4. Mini-USB port - Connects to a power source (computer, car charger, or wall charger), and is also used to connect the TND 500 to a computer

2. Mounting the Intelliroute TND 500 In A Car or Truck

Mounting the IntelliRoute TND 500 is a simple process that doesn't require any professional installation and takes just a few seconds.

First, assemble the mount by sliding the cradle into the mount bracket. When the cradle is fully seated on the bracket, you'll hear a click.

Next, locate a suitable area on the windshield and attach the mount to the glass.

Press the mount firmly against the glass, and push the locking lever towards the glass to secure the mount to the windshield.

Plug the vehicle power adapter into an available cigarette lighter socket.

Connect the USB end of the vehicle power adapter to the USB port on the right side of the TND 500.
