Lok8uis releasing a line of GSM/GPS enabled locator watches designed specifically for children and alzheimer's patients. Here's all the details:
The child locator watch is available in three colors (black, blue, or pink), and can be pre-ordered on Amazon right now for $179.00.
The adult / alzheimer's model (which is essentially identical, but lacks the tamper-resistant watch band) will be available sometime next quarter. It will be called the "multi-m8".
According to reps, the watch will have a battery life of about 3 days standby, 1.5 days of regular usage. A docking charging station is included in the kit.
The watch will operate on T-Mobile's network, and will carry a monthly service charge (TBD)
Features:
The watch has been available for sale in the U.K. for about a year now.
I've been promised a loaner unit to review as soon as these things actually start shipping. Stay tuned for a full in-depth review.
