Installing the GO 740 in the car is a simple process that requires no tools or professional installation.

Plug in the vehicle power adapter.

Connect the vehicle power adapter to the back of the windshield mount.

Decide where on the windshield you want to mount the GO 740, then press the suction cup firmly against the glass, and twist the rubber ring near the base of the mount in a clockwise direction until it clicks into the locked position.

Fit the bottom of the GO 740 into the cradle and tilt the unit back (towards the windshield glass) until it snaps into place, as shown above.
Re move the GO 740 from the dock, press the button on the front of the dock and rotate the GPS forward off the mount.

TomTom's new windshield mounting hardware is outstanding. It's easy to use, and does an excellent job holding the GPS securely in place while driving.
Adjusting the GPS' viewing angle is equally simple: there's no levers or knobs to deal with; just articulate the dock into the desired position.

The GO 740 looks nice in the car; a single power cable runs from the windshield mount to the 12v cigarette lighter power adapter.
