Figure 19: TeleNav Shotgun, Mounted in the Car
Mounting the Shotgun in the car is quick and simple, and doesn't require any professional installation: attach the windshield mount to the glass, connect the power cable, dock the GPS, and you're ready to start navigating.

Figure 20: Attaching the Suction Cup Mount to the Windshield
Locate the area on the windshield where you want to mount the GPS, then press the suction cup mount against the glass and lower the locking lever into place to secure the mount to the windshield.

Figure 21: Connect the 12v Power Adapter
Connect the car power adapter to the cigarette lighter socket.

Figure 22: Connecting the Vehicle Power Cable to the TeleNav Shotgun
Connect the mini-USB end of the vehicle power cable to the USB port on the side of the GPS.

Figure 23: Docking the Shotgun
Fit the bottom of the GPS into the cradle, and then tilt the GPS back towards the windshield until it snaps into place.

Figure 25: TeleNav Shotgun, Mounted in the Car
TeleNav's Shotgun can be used to find addresses, intersections, city centers, or business such as hotels, gas stations, restaurants, and more.

Figure 26: TeleNav Shotgun, Main Menu
When you press the power button and turn on the Shotgun, the Main Menu appears, shown above.
Four options are available from the Main Menu:
Also located on the Main Menu are icons for adjusting the volume, and setting system preferences.

Figure 27: Drive To Menu
The Drive To menu options are:

Figure 28: Entering the City or Zip
The Shotgun allows you to type the name of a city using on the on-screen QWERTY keyboard, or enter a zip code.

Figure 29: Entering the City or Zip
As you enter the city name, Shotgun produces a list of matching city names below. Tap on the correct city name to continue to the next step.

Figure 30: Entering the House Number and Street Name
Unlike most GPS devices, the Shotgun allows you to enter the house/building number all in one step (most other GPS devices separate this out into two steps).

Figure 31: Entering the Street Address
Just as with city names, Shotgun produces a list of matching street names as you type.

Figure 32: Address Confirmation Screen
Once the destination street address has been fully entered, the Shotgun can save the address into the favorites, display the location on a map, or begin navigating by tapping the large 'GO' button.

Figure 33: Viewing the Destination Address on the Map
Traffic conditions at the destination address can also be viewed by tapping 'Show Traffic' from the map screen (requires an active subscription to TeleNav's Connected Services).

Figure 34: Calculating the Route
Route Calculation (figuring out which roads to take) is slightly slower than on most competing GPS units, but not enough to be a major issue.

Figure 35: Map Screen
TeleNav's map screen does a good job displaying important information. An upcoming turn arrow shows the direction and distance of the next maneuver. Traffic alerts, if any, are displayed in the left hand column, as are the remaining distance/time, direction of travel, and GPS satellite signal strength indicator.
I did find some of the text on the map screen too small, and difficult to read from the driver's seat, and also wished there were quicker shortcuts for adjusting the volume, and returning to the main menu without having to cancel the current route altogether.
