Figure 52: Map Screen
Tapping on the vehicle icon on the map displays the Where Am I screen, shown below. This is a great feature that provides one-touch access to your current street address (or closest valid street address), nearest intersection, exact coordinates, and makes it easy to save your current location into the address book.

Figure 52: Where Am I / Save Current Location Screen
The Where Am I? screen also makes it easy to find nearby hospitals, police stations, and gas stations.
Tapping Save Location Saves your current location to the Address Book, and allows you to assign a name to the location.

Figure 53: Tools Menu
The Where Am I page can also be accessed by tapping Main Menu > Tools > Where Am I?

Figure 54: Setting the Home Address
The Home address is a special saved address that provides quick, one-touch access to the address you'll probably most often use: home.
The first time you touch Go Home from the Where to? menu, the nüvi 205 prompts you to enter your home address.

Figure 55: Entering a Home Address
Any of the following can be used to store the Home address:
Once the Home address has been set, it can be changed anytime by tapping on Where to > Favorites > Home > Edit

Figure 56: Favorites
Saved locations are stored in Favorites, the nüvi 205's address book. The list of saved addresses, or favorites, is accessed by tapping on Where to? > (scroll down) Favorites.

Figure 57: Viewing Favorites
Favorites are always sorted by distance to your current location. Notice that the nüvi 205 allows you to associate a photo with each saved address. JPG or JPEG files are supported. Once a photo is copied to the nüvi, it can be attached to a saved address. When navigating to a saved address that has a photo attached to it, the photo is displayed on the nüvi's screen upon arrival.

Figure 58: Editing A Favorite
Touching Edit on the details page of a saved entry allows you to change the name, photo, map symbol, phone number, and category of a given entry. You can also delete the saved address by touching Delete.

Figure 59: Changing Categories
Categories allow you to group saved places into logical collections. For example, instead of a long list of saved places, you might want to define categories for things like "Places to Eat", or "Wife's Saved Places". You get the idea.

Figure 60: Enter New Category
You can name the categories anything you want. Use the on-screen keyboard to enter a name of your choosing, then tap Done.

Figure 61: Assign Category
Once a category has been defined, you can assign it to any saved address in the Favorites.

Figure 62: Favorites
The "Food" Category I created now appears in the Favorites list.

Figure 63: Where To?, Page 2
Like previous Garmin nüvis, the 205 can navigate to a set of longitude/latitude coordinates.
This capability can be useful for locations may not have an official street address, or used for Geocaching as well.
To route to a set of coordinates, tap Where to? on the Main Menu, and then scroll down to see the Coordinates icon.

Figure 64: Select Format
The nüvi 205 supports the three common formats shown above.

Figure 65: Usage Mode
It's a little buried in the menu system, but the nüvi 205 can operate in pedestrian mode if you want to use the GPS on foot to walk to a destination. To switch the nüvi into pedestrian mode, tap Tools > Settings > System > Usage Mode > Pedestrian > OK
