The nüvi 785T's Enhance MSN Direct content includes Local Event information. Local Events data is provided by CitySearch, and allows you to view local goings on in your area.

Touch Local Events from the MSN Direct menu, and the nüvi asks you to select a date (or all dates) to view local events information.

You can browse Local Events by category, or view all nearby events. Note that categories only appear in this if a corresponding local event has been received. For example, "festivals" will only appear as a category if a festival event has been received.

Details about each Local Event can be viewed, and the nüvi can route to the event by touching the green Go! button.

Top news stories can be viewed by tapping the News icon from the MSN Direct menu. There's no way to search for a particular news story, or customize the feed, so you're limited to the headline news feed from MSN Direct.

10.9 - MSN Direct, Web Favorites

The Web Favorites feature allows you to find a location using your computer and send that location to the nüvi 785T via MSN Direct.

Touch Favorites from the MSN Direct menu to access the Favorites list.

Technically there's no reason you can't send locations to nüvi 785T from any number of websites, but probably the easiest method is to open a web browser and go to www.msndirect.com/webfavorites, search for a location, click Send to... and choose GPS from the menu. Within 15 to 30 minutes the location will appear in the Favorites list.

The time it takes to send addresses to the nüvi greatly depends on MSN Direct signal strength. When the nüvi had full MSN Direct reception, addresses were generally received in under 20 minutes. However, in areas of marginal coverage it could take more than an hour for an address to appear in the Favorites list.
