VZ Navigator's preferences can be configure by pressing Options -> Preferences from VZ Navigator's main menu.

Five difference voices are available to choose from. All the voices are computer generated, and speak actual street names when announcing turns.

Trip Settings allows you to specify routing, vehicle, and avoidance preferences.

When calculating the route to a destination, VZ Navigator has three different routing preferences available to choose: fastest, shortest, and simplest.

Figure 36: Vehicle Type
VA Navigator lets you toggle between Car/Motorcycle, Truck, Bicycle, and Pedestrian vehicle types. When set to Truck, VZ Navigator avoids roads with known commercial vehicle restrictions. When set to Bicycle or Pedestrian mode, the estimate time of arrival is adjusted to account for typical walking or cycling speed. Car/Motorcycle is the default setting.

Figure 37: Avoid
Highways, Toll Roads, and car pool lanes can be avoided when navigating to a destination by enabling them in the Avoid preference screen, shown above. HOV is enabled by default.

Figure 38: Navigation View
Navigation View is the map that's displayed when driving to a destination. Dashboard, the default setting, lets you cycle between all available map screens. 3D perspective and 2D Top View can also be selected.
