Figure 59: Adding a stop to along the way
The nuvi 750 provides an easy method for adding a single stop along the current route. Once a destination address has already been input, and the Go button has been tapped, from the Map screen tap Menu -> Where to? -> Choose a type of address, such as a POI, address, or recently found address. The menu shown above in figure 59 will appear, asking if you want to set the new address as the destination address, or add it as a stop along the way (Add as a Via Point).
If you want to create a trip that contains more than one stop, you'll need to create and save a Route.
Garmin's nuvi 700-series models are the first nuvis to support multi-destination routing with route optimization. Many users, myself included, found the lack of multi-stop routing capabilities on previous nuvis a glaring omission. Thankfully, Garmin has added this important feature to the nuvi 750.
The nuvi 750 allows up to 10 "Routes", or trips, to be created and saved. A route is a saved trip that contains more than one destination address.

Figure 60: Accessing the Routes Feature
Creating, editing, and activating routes are all performed via the Routes menu. To access the Routes feature, tap Where to? > Scroll down to page 2 > Routes.

Figure 61: First Time Using the Routes Feature
The first time the Routes icon is tapped the nuvi reports that no Routes have been created, and asks if we'd like to create a Route. Tapping No will exit back to the Main Menu. Tapping Yes will continue to the Route Setup Screen, shown below.

Figure 62: Adding Stops to the Route
The first step in creating a Route, or multi-stop trip, is to add a starting point. Tap Add New Start Point.
Adding addresses to a saved Route is identical to the process for entering a normal destination address; you can use street addresses, POIs, recently found addresses, saved favorites, intersections, or coordinates as entries on a Route.

Figure 63: Creating the Route
Tapping on the green plus icon inserts another location to the route, while tapping on the red minus icon removes that location from the route.

Figure 64: Calculating the Route
Once all the desired locations have been added to the Route, tapping Next causes the nuvi to calculate the route. Route calculation is quick, taking no more than a few seconds.

Figure 65: Viewing the Route on the Map
Once the route has been calculated, the planned route is displayed on the map. Note that the last location in the Route is marked with a checkered flag. The nuvi also displays the distance and time for the planned Route.
Tap Save to store the Route and make it available for use and/or optimization, or Back to return to the previous menu and make changes to the Route.

Figure 66: Viewing a Saved Route
By default, the nuvi saves Routes using the starting and ending location names. You can rename the Route to something more significant, like "Family Trip To Disney Land", as well as re-order the stops by tapping Edit...
Tap the green Go! button to start navigating to the first location in the Route.

Figure 67: Reordering Stops Along A Route
One of the most significant new features of the nuvi 750 compared to previous nuvi models is the ability to "Optimize" routes.
Tapping Optimally Reorder Points reorders the stops so that you are driving to each location in the most efficient manner. In other words, you're not driving back and forth or in circles, but driving to each address along the route in order of closeness. This feature is especially helpful for drivers who regularly visit multiple locations in one trip, such as realtors, delivery drivers, and contractors. For example, if you want to drive to 10 open houses, you could create and save a Route containing all 10 addresses, then tap Optimally Reorder Points to order the stops by closeness to your current location.
You can also manually reorder the locations in a Route by tapping on Manually Reorder Points.
Tapping Recalculate allows you to change the route preference and have the nuvi choose the route based on faster time, shorter distance, or off road.
Tapping Delete erases the Route.

Figure 68: Routing to A Set of Coordinates
There may be occasions when you'll need to route to a set of coordinates instead of a street address or Point of Interest. For example, some places don't have an official street address and need to be input as a set of coordinates. Routing to coordinates is also useful for Geocaching (you can use the nuvi 750 in automobile mode to drive close to the cache, then switch into pedestrian mode to find the cache).
To route to a set of coordinates, tap Where to? on the Main Menu, and then scroll down to page 2 to see the Coordinates icon, as shown above in figure 68.

Garmin supports entering coordinates in several different formats.
