Mio Launches Behemoth Unit

spec_c728_global.jpg

Mio seems to be launching new units left and right. Its latest unit, the C728, is a monster of a GPS unit with its rather large 7" screen.

The C728 has many of the same features you'd come to expect from Mio's lineup; audio/video player, Bluetooth and split-screen interface. This new unit has thankfully upgraded their annoying 2.5mm headphone jack for the ever so welcome 3.5mm connection. However, the large screen drains the battery after only 2.5 hours.

No word on when this unit will hit the U.S., but can anyone really find practicability in a 7" touchscreen on your dash? I can understand a 7" screen for you built-in Navigation, but a screen that size just hanging off your windshield might be a bit excessive. I think this unit would be more fitting for a cross-country RV trip.
