It seems like Mio is running non-stop with all of its recent announcements and releases. It’s newest high-end unit, the C720t, was just announced which has of slew of features including a 2-megapixel camera, real-time traffic updates, a 4.3-inch widescreen display, and enhanced Bluetooth capabilities.
The rousing new feature here is the C720t’s integrated 2-megapixel camera which allows users to take pictures and tag them with the locations GPS coordinates. Business card recognition software is also included which should allow users to automatically input data into their contacts list by simply taking a photo of a business card.
The C720t has a whooping 12 million points of interest in its database. The unit allows you to also make custom “PhotoPOIs” using the built in camera or images pulled from Flickr or Google Earth.
The C720t also incorporates Bluetooth support and a built-in media player for sharing photos, music and videos. In addition, the navigator bundles a car mount, USB cable and protective carrying case. The C720t also comes with a Traffic Messaging Channel (TMC) cradle and three-months of the service included.
Measuring 5 by 3.2 by 0.78 inches and weighing 6.7 oz, the Mio DigiWalker C720t will retail for around $600.
It’s interesting to see Mio add in all these features to try and compete with the big three. Features aside, if this unit can’t properly navigate, then what’s the point?
