TomTom's U.S. Shopping Site Outage: 11 Days (and counting)

TomTom Site Unavailable

Anyone who'se tried to buy maps from TomTom's web store recently may have noticed that the site is down.

Several readers emailed us with reports of trying to buy additional maps online, only to find TomTom's "Our Apologies!" page instead. According to TomTom's customer support, the site has actually been down for almost two weeks with no fix in sight.

A major e-commerce outage at the start of a huge holiday travel weekend isn't exactly an impressive show of quality from the Dutch GPS manufacturer. As one reader quipped: "I'll never buy anything from TomTom again. My next GPS will be from a company that's actually committed to servicing the US market!".
