TomTom has released version 2.0 of their HOME application, TomTom's desktop software designed to manage and update TomTom's GPS devices.
HOME 2.0 brings a new look and feel, along with a new software version for TomTom GO 520/720 devices - version 7.0.10. In keeping with TomTom tradition, there are no release notes available for version 2.0, so details on what exactly has changed are sparse.

HOME 2.0 sports a completely redesigned interface. Tasks are now easier to see, and the overall interface is far less cluttered.

Home 2.0 feels more like a web application, and less like a desktop app.

After launching HOME 2.0, the software notified me of several available updates for my GO 720, including updated firmware version 7.0.10. I know some users reported problems with the beta version, but so far version 2.0 appears to be pretty solid; I've got it installed on Vista, and it successfully installed and updated my GO 720 without issue.
Normally TomTom's HOME is available for direct download via TomTom's PLUS website. Unfortunately, that site has been down for the past 24 hours, so for now you'll need to have a previous version of HOME already installed to get the update to version 2.0. Once TomTom's site is back up, you should be able to download version 2.0 directly.
