Magellan's Triton 2000 Handheld GPS Has Built-in Flashlight, 2MP Digital Camera

Magellan has announced its new handheld GPS product line, Triton. Available in 6 flavors, the Triton will feature a QVGA touch screen, waterproof case, and the top model will even have an integrated 2-megapixel digital camera. Here's the full specs on all six new models, which range in price from $129 to $499.

Triton 200 - $129

  • Entry level unit will retail for $129
  • 2.2-inch QVGA color screen
  • pre-loaded base maps
  • waterproof to IPX-7 standards
  • Pointer and compass screens
  • Powered by 2 AA batteries

Triton 300 - $149

  • Same specs as the Triton 200, but has more memory for additional maps, which can be uploaded using VantagePoint software

Triton 400 - $199

  • Same specs as the Triton 300, but adds an SD card slot for expandable memory

Triton 500 - $249

  • Slightly smaller case (but same size screen) as the lesser Tritons
  • 2.2-inch QVGA color screen
  • SD memory card slot
  • Uploadable maps using VantagePoint software
  • Pre-loaded with base maps
  • electronic compass and barometer
  • waterproof to IPX-7 (can be completely submerged in up to 3 feet of water)

Triton 1500 - $399

  • Same specs as the Triton 500, but has a larger, 2.7-inch QVGA color touch screen
  • speaker and microphone
  • flashlight

Triton 2000 - $499

  • Magellan's top of the line Triton
  • Same specs as the Triton 1500, but includes a 2-megapixel digital camera

Magellan says the spanking new handhelds will be available in September in North America, and October in Europe.
