LG's LN790 Does Video, Photo, Music

LG LN790

It's official: LG's LN790 is a pirate's video enthusiast's best friend, supporting both DivX and XvID video playback. Even better, the LN790 will reportedly have a split-screen mode with half the screen showing video playback and the other half showing the map (sounds safe, doesn't it?).

The unit will also sport a photo viewer and mp3 player. Unfortunately, it looks like the LN790 won't allow music playback while navigating, but that's not confirmed yet. Expect to see the LN790 in September for $699 list, $599 street.

LG LN790:

  • 4.3" Wide Touch Screen LCD (brightness is the same as as the LN740)
  • Turn by Turn Voice Guidance with Street name announcements
  • Bluetooth hands free calling (and the ability to stream audio/music via Bluetooth!)
  • Access to Traffic Information Services (90 day free trial included with purchase)
  • Movie file playback (supports DivX and Xvid formats!!)
  • 6 hour battery life
  • 4 million POIs (unconfirmed)
