Mercedes-Benz Maybach Review

Verdict: Perfect for people sick of having money

Mercedes-Benz Maybach, Front

It's been called the most exclusive automobile in the history of mankind. Named after Mecerdes-Benz's first designer, Wilhelm Maybach, Daimler produces just 5 hand-built units per day, or about 1000 units annually. Sit back in the $425,000 (no, that's not a typo) Maybach 62, and all your senses are pampered in luxury as your chauffeur takes care of actually driving the 543 horsepower twin-turbocharged V-12 beast.

But what kind of navigation system do you get in a vehicle that costs about $100,000 more than the average cost of a new home sold in the United States in 2006? Read on.

Garmin nuvi 680 Awarded GPSmagazine Editor's Choice Award

GPSmagazine Editor's Choice - Garmin nuvi 680

When I first reviewed the Garmin nuvi 680 back in February, I thought it was a fantastic GPS, but I just couldn't give it the GPSmagazine Editor's Choice Award seeing as the almost identical nuvi 660 was nearly half the price. Don't get me wrong, the MSN-Direct features are very nice to have, but they're not worth $300 more than the 660!

Fast forward 5 months to July 2007 and the nuvi 680 has dropped almost $400 in price, and can be had for around $675. At that price the 680 is only about $100 more expensive than the 660, and I feel the price is reasonable enough to warrant an Editor's Choice Award. The MSN-Direct features give it a slight edge over the 660.

No GPS is perfect, but all-in-all the nuvi 680 is the best one I've tested. If you're looking for the best GPS and willing to spend close to $700, it's hard to beat the Garmin nuvi 680.

The Best GPS I Never Owned

The Best GPS I Never Owned

I've seen a lot of GPS units here at GPSmagazine, and hard as I try, I've yet to find an absolutely perfect GPS. So I thought, why not combine all the best elements of each GPS, and add a few new features to create the ultimate GPS?

If I were a large GPS manufacturer with deep pockets (Garmin, Magellan, TomTom, are you listening?), here's the GPS I'd design:
