The Pocket LOOX ships with a set of earphones. The large disc is actually a quick-release mechanism. The black cord can be tethered to the Pocket LOOX. Press the button on the quick-release disc, and the disc separates from the strap.

The Pocket LOOX measures just 3.5" x 2" x .6 inches. The unit has a 2.8" QVGA color touch-screen display, and fits nicely in the palm of your hand. The Pocket LOOX looks good with a simple, elegant design.

Here we see the standard headphones port, and the mini-USB port. The USB port is used both to power/charge the Pocket LOOX, as well as connect the unit to a PC. The two small holes between the headphone port and USB port are status light indicators. The top light is the battery charge status indicator, and the lower light is the GPS radio signal indicator.

The Hold and Power buttons are located on the top of the unit. The Hold switch is used to lock the keys and the display of the Pocket LOOX to prevent inadvertently pressing buttons or the screen while the unit is in your pocket, for example.

Although the Pocket LOOX can be controlled just using your fingers to operate the touch screen controls, there may be times when you want to use the included stylus. The telescoping stylus is stored in the rear of the unit itself. To use the stylus, simply pull it out from it's storage compartment.

The Pocket LOOX N100 uses a 3.7V 1150mAh lithium ion rechargeable battery. Note that the battery is user serviceable, meaning you can access and replace the battery without having to bring the GPS to an authorized service center, or mail it back to the manufacturer.

3. Mounting the Pocket LOOX N100 in the Car

The Pocket LOOX N100 can be used in the car, just you would use any other turn-by-turn GPS, or carried around with you and used on foot. The LOOX N100 includes all the mounting gear you'll need to automotive use, and mounts easily on the windshield.

The Windshield mounting hardware consists of two pieces: a flex-arm suction mount, and a quick-release mounting bracket that snaps on to the end of the flex-arm. A considerable amount of force is required to attach these two pieces, so you'll want to connect them before trying to mount the flex-arm to the windshield.
