Garmin Releases Browser Plug-In For Easier Geocaching

Garmin Communicator

Anyone whose ever tried to manually enter Geocaches into a Garmin handheld knows what a pain in the rear it can be.

Last week, Garmin released a browser plug-in that allows for much easier communication between its GPS devices and websites with GPS information, including geocaching.com.

You'll now see a "Send to GPS" button on every cache page - once you've downloaded and installed the plugin (available at http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/), just attach your GPS device, click the button, and go - the information is transferred directly with no 3rd-party software required.

Currently, the plugin is compatible with IE 6+ and Firefox 1.5+ for Windows users only, though Garmin promises to deliver Mac support soon.
