Magellan has posted firmware version 1.22 for the Maestro 4040 on their website. Downloading the update requires that you register your Maestro's serial number with Magellan. After completing the registration process, I was unable to download the update, and was instead returned to Magellan's homepage without explanation. Now it looks like Magellan has pulled the update altogether from the site. Take a look at the following screenshots for the whole story:

After browsing over to Magellan's support site and choosing the Maestro series under Product Type, and the 4040 as the model number, firmware version 1.22 appears as an available update. Great news - maybe they've fixed a few key problems with this update; I better download it! I click on the update and am take the the page shown above, which shows that the new firmware does indeed address a few issues, including the much needed ability to view the maneuvering list before you start driving. Great! I click on "I want to download this update"

Next I'm prompted to login. No problemo - I enter my username and password.

OK - let's try this again - I lock on the Magellan Maestro 4040 link.

Next you have to agree to the terms and conditions...

Magellan asks for your unit's serial number, the date of purchase, and the location you bought the unit at. I enter all the required information and click "Register My Product".

Things are looking good - I'm almost done. I click on "Click here to download the firmware" - let the downloading begin!

What the...? After clicking on the link to download the firmware, I'm returned to Magellan's homepage without any further explanation.
Based on comments in the Forum, looks like others are experiencing the same issue.
